Which way to the lake?

Over the weekend we went to the lake to cool off and have some fun.
Unfortunately we also had some extra driving, failed destinations, and closing stores.
We were first heading to a swimming spot on Lake Erie that we use to go to. I was closed the last 2 years so we weren't able to swim there. A person my husband knows said that it was opened back up so we decided to go there. Except I think we were in the wrong spot. The beach was still closed and the sign name was different. But my husband swore it was the right one. So we decided to drive 30 minutes down the road to go to a different swimming spot. We swam. We tanned. We even went down a giant water slide. (Well my two step kids did.) A fun, fun time was had by all.
We came home. Had dinner. And got around to go to a hot air balloon fest. But got stuck in traffic. For like 45 minutes. They closed a city street down and were redirecting traffic. By the time we found our parking spot it was pretty much over. So to keep everyone calm and happy I said we would go for some hard dip ice cream. Well I didn't realize that the store closed while we were in there. GAH!
We left and went down the road to Friendly's so we could get my hubby and step-daughter ice cream also.
The kids said they had a blast and that's what matters I suppose. It was just very frustrating day and night.
